Denver weather: First snow of 2024 on the way later this week

Denver’s first snow of the new year is right around the corner.After a warm start to 2024 with temperatures expected in the 50s Tuesday, a cold front moves into the state Wednesday and will likely bring with it some snow Thursday afternoon and evening.The Wednesday forecast has a high of 46 degrees and Thursday’s forecast has 35 degrees. Low temperatures on both days are 23 degrees.Forecasters at the National Weather Service in Boulder expect the mountains and the Palmer Divide south of Denver to receive the most snow, but Denver could get as much as 2 inches of snow Thursday night.Denver has a 40% to 50% chance of snow between 11 a.m. and 11 p.m. Thursday.Forecasters warned what snow does fall could result in potentially dangerous and slick driving conditions.Denver will warm up slightly Friday and Saturday, with highs in the low 40s, but high temperatures will get below freezing by Monday as the next, potentially much bigger, snow system moves through the state.Related...Ian Ziering addresses Hollywood biker brawl, calls it 'hooliganism'

Actor Ian Ziering described a physical confrontation between himself and a group of mini-bikers on Hollywood Boulevard Sunday as "hooliganism" in a social media post."While stuck in traffic, my car was approached aggressively by one of these riders leading to an unsettling confrontation," Ziering posted on Instagram one day after the incident.The "Beverly Hills, 90210" actor said he got out of his car to assess any damage when the situation escalated into a physical altercation. Video of the skirmish obtained by TMZ shows Ziering confronting and shoving one of the mini-bikers who was blocking his vehicle. 31-Year-Old Man Arrested after Red-Light Crash near McDowell RoadPHOENIX, AZ (January 2, 2023) – Kenneth Lane was arrested Monday morning after a red-light crash on 35th Avenue and McDowell Road.The incident occurred at approximately 11:30 a.m. on December 25th. According to reports, 31-year-old Lane was driving a truck north on 35th Avenue and failed to obey the red light, resulting in a collision with another vehicle at the intersection. Additionally, another truck became involved.A woman in her 30s and a child sustained critical injuries, while three other occupants suffered minor wounds. Emergency services transported all victims to a nearby hospital for further medical attention. Two Teens Pronounced Dead after Hit-and-Run Collision near G StreetANTIOCH, CA (January 2, 2024) – Amahje Emenike and Arsenio Rabb died Friday night in a hit-and-run t-bone collision on West 6th Street and G Street.At approximately 11:30 p.m., law enforcement officers arrived at the scene in response to an incident. According to reports, the driver of a blue four-door sedan violated a stop sign at the intersection, leading to a collision with a black Cadillac SUV that was passing through.Subsequently, the driver of the Cadillac fled on foot from the scene.
