Jalen Brunson, Knicks stymie visiting Nuggets on the road NEW YORK – Knicks guard Jalen Brunson shook Denver’s defense more than a New York subway ride. The stocky, shifty guard bulldozed his way to 24 points Saturday afternoon, as the hometown Knicks knocked off the Nuggets, 116-110, in a rollicking afternoon showdown.Despite superstar showings from Nikola Jokic (24 points, 10 rebounds, eight assists) and Jamal Murray (25 points, five 3-pointers), the Nuggets’ defense faltered late in the fourth quarter, and Denver fell to 47-24 and just 17-18 on the road. They’ll try to rebound Sunday when they face the Nets in another afternoon affair. The Knicks snatched 15 offensive rebounds and owned a 20-12 advantage on second-chance points. Reported I-680 kangaroo probably a hurt deer, police say

Reported I-680 kangaroo probably a hurt deer, police say A report of a kangaroo with a bad leg beside I-680 in the Bay Area on Saturday morning appears to have been erroneous. The animal by the highway was probably an injured deer, police said.California Highway Patrol Sgt. Matt Gutierrez had said Sunday morning that it appeared a kangaroo with a “bum leg” was on the loose in Alamo, and that an officer in the area was trying to find the owner. But no kangaroo — an animal native to Australia — was found, and two reports of an injured deer by the highway from around the same time suggested the person reporting a kangaroo on the roadside had instead seen a hurt deer, Gutierrez said. The hopping movements of injured deer have in the past generated calls about kangaroos, Gutierrez said. The Highway Patrol responded to the Contra Costa County incident, first reported publicly in a tweet by news website Danville/San Ramon Updates, around 10:45 a.m. Saturday.
